This year’s Vacation Bible School is Stellar: Shine Jesus’ Light! Register your child (Pre-K – Grade 5) for a fun week (June 19-22) of bible games and activities, with a concert on Thursday at 7 PM for the kids to share the songs they learned that week. Kids will blast off into space and explore the galaxy as they shine Jesus’ light! Register in the Parish Office (click button above) or at stblase.org by June 5th! Registration cost is $25 per child.
Vacation Bible School/Summer Circle is coming June 19-22 for Pre-K to 5th grade! We need volunteers to cover multiple areas of this program as we blast off to outer space with “Stellar – Shine Jesus’ Light!” WE NEED BOTH ADULT AND TEEN VOLUNTEERS (grade 6+) in all areas! Pray on it and let the office know if you can help. Adults will need a current background check and Protecting God’s Children. God is good!
Vacation Bible School is a fun week in the summer for kids (Pre-K – Grade 5) to learn more about their faith through games, activities, and song. VBS meets for one week in the summer, Monday – Thursday, 1 PM – 4 PM, with a Concert on Thursday evening at 7 PM for the kids to share with their families the songs they’ve learned during the week. NOTE: Every volunteer must have completed the Protecting God’s Children workshop, and have a Background Check.
Adult Crew Leaders: The Crew Leader is in charge of the same group of approximately 5 children daily, ages K–Gr. 5. This is so easy, because all you have to do is follow the directions of the STELLAR Station Leaders (bible drama, games, Imagination Station, movie presenter and Galactic Snacks cook and servers ). YOU will oversee YOUR Crew and attend to the needs of the children in your Crew. Duties include taking attendance, bathroom runs, passing out materials, etc. You’ll need to commit to being present all four afternoons and to arrive in the Gathering Space @ 12:15 pm on Monday, June 19.
Teen Crew Leaders: A Teen Crew Leader assists the Crew Leader in the same group of approximately 5 children in K–Gr. 5 daily. You will be the Crew’s ‘big sister’ or ‘big brother’. Children will really look up to you! You’ll need to commit to being present all four afternoons and to arrive in the Gathering Space by 12:15 pm on Monday, June 19 & by 12:40 pm Tuesday – Thursday, June 20-22. This is a great opportunity to take part in a spectacular community service project.
Preschool Adult Crew Leaders are needed to help supervise the preschoolers. Note: Parents of preschoolers may NOT volunteer in the Preschool Area. You’ll need to commit to being present all four afternoons and to arrive at 12:30 pm daily, June 19-22. Please contact Diann Chase (586) 268-2244, if interested in Preschool Coordinator Position.
Preschool Teen Crew Leaders: You will be paired up with the same preschooler all week. You’ll need to commit to being present all four afternoons and to arrive at 12:30 pm daily so that you are there when the children are dropped off. This is a great opportunity to take part in a spectacular community service project.
All-Star Games: Fun & energetic adults and teens who enjoy playing games are needed. To volunteer for this coordinator position, please call Diann Chase (586-268-2244) or fill out the form below.
Stellar Bible Adventures: Calling all actors, teens and adults. Skits will be performed to bring additional learning experience to the daily Bible point. Contact: Diann Chase.
Galactic Snacks: A limited amount of Teens and Adults are needed in the kitchen daily to prepare creative snacks.
Imagination Station and KidVid Cinema: A limited amount of Teens and/or Adults are needed are needed to assist the coordinators with the daily activities.
Registration Greeters/Guides: Adults only. Your job will be to greet children as they arrive and help them find their crew, help with name tags and to assemble bags needed for the crews the night before they’re needed. Monday, June 19 from 12:00 -1:30 pm. Tuesday-Thursday, June 20-22 from 12:15-1:15 pm daily.
Crews WILL BE formed in advance: On Monday, June 19, all registered children should arrive 30 minutes early (12:30pm) and meet in the Gathering Space where your Crew Leader greets you. Flag Leader: We need flag leaders to move Crews to various locales every 15-20 minutes. We’re looking for adults and energetic teens. Coordinator: Jim Richard.
Daily set-up @ noon & Daily take-down @ 4:00 pm: We need adults and older teens to help with daily setup and take-down.
Nurse: In case of a scrape, a bee sting or other emergency, we would like one nurse on site each afternoon. To volunteer for this coordinator position, please call Diann Chase (586-268-2244) or fill out the form below.
Decorator: We need help decorating the building during the week of June 12-16 from 9:30am—4 pm. This is the fun part!!! Let’s help design our galaxy!
Thursday after Concert & Friday @ 9:30am cleanup: Adults and older teens are needed for this vital job. The building needs to be put back in order after a whole week of activities. Call Diann Chase (586-268-2244) or fill out the form.
