Preparing for First Communion generally takes place beginning around age 7-8 for children who have been participating in parish life and the Faith Formation Program at St. Blase. The process includes four workshops offered January – April for children and their parents. These four workshops are designed to foster a greater understanding of the mystery of the Eucharist and to support the faith formation already happening in the home and in the Faith Formation Program. Please arrive at these four Eucharist Parent-Child Workshops 10 minutes before starting time. These prayers must be memorized before celebrating the sacrament: The Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be Common Catholic Prayers

IS YOUR CHILD READY? How do you know? Here are some questions to ask yourself…
Does your child show interest about the Mass?
Are they eager to receive Communion?
Do they sing the songs and acclamations?
Do they pray with the assembly?
Do they try to listen attentively during the Liturgy of the Word?
Do they ask you questions about the mass or symbols in church?

PARENTS REGISTER YOUR CHILD/REN FOR EUCHARIST PREPARATION WHEN REGISTERING FOR REGULAR FAITH FORMATION.
