MCREST

July 26 – August 1, 2026

St. Blase is once again hosting our MCREST guests at The Women and Children’s Shelter in Mt. Clemens. They house approximately 50-55 women and children there on an ongoing and rotating basis. Our responsibility as host is to provide three meals each day for the duration of our host week. The donations that are received will go toward purchasing the food items needed. We are also hoping to have enough money to purchase bus tickets for our guests as well. So please be as generous as you can!

About MCREST

Begun in 1988 with the idea of a homeless day camp, in the past 30 years Macomb County’s Rotating Emergency Shelter (MCREST) has evolved to now provide meals, lodging, life-skills training, housing assistance, job readiness training, and emergency shelter 365 days each year to Macomb County’s homeless population.
St. Blase is proud to be part of now approximately 70 committed churches, from many denominations across Macomb County to host a week throughout the year. During our host week, we provide three meals each day and serve them to our MCREST guests at their new permanent residence in Mt. Clemens which opened in January 2022. Why do we do this? We are called to love as Jesus loved – to show compassion to those in need, to uphold the dignity, honor the diversity and respect the life of every individual in our community. We are blessed to be able to help to provide homeless and displaced individuals the opportunity for successful transition to independence!
