Volunteer Job Descriptions:
Adult Crew Leaders: The Crew Leader is in charge of the same group of approximately 5 children daily, ages K–Gr. 5. This is so easy, because all you have to do is follow the directions of the MONUMENTAL Station Leaders (bible drama, game, Imagination Station, movie presenter and Oasis Tastes cook and servers ). YOU will oversee YOUR Crew and attend to the needs of the children in your Crew. Duties include taking attendance, bathroom runs, passing out materials, etc. You’ll need to commit to being present all four afternoons and to arrive in the Gathering Space @ 12:15 pm on Monday, June 20.
Teen Crew Leaders: A Teen Crew Leader assists the Crew Leader in the same group of approximately 5 children in K–Gr. 5 daily. You will be the Crew’s ‘big sister’ or ‘big brother’. Children will really look up to you! You’ll need to commit to being present all four afternoons and to arrive in the Gathering Space by 12:15 pm on Monday, June 20 & by 12:40 pm Tuesday – Thursday, June 21-23. This is a great opportunity to take part in a spectacular community service project.
Preschool Adult Crew Leaders are needed to help supervise the preschoolers. Note: Parents of preschoolers may NOT volunteer in the Preschool Area. You’ll need to commit to being present all four afternoons and to arrive at 12:30 pm daily, June 20-23.
Preschool Teen Crew Leaders: You will be paired up with the same preschooler all week. You’ll need to commit to being present all four afternoons and to arrive at 12:30 pm daily so that you are there when the children are dropped off. This is a great opportunity to take part in a spectacular community service project.
Red Rocks Rec: Fun & energetic adults and teens who enjoy playing games are needed. To volunteer for this coordinator position, please call Diann Chase (586-268-2244) or fill out the form in the bulletin.
Awesome Bible Adventures: Calling all actors, teens and adults. Skits will be performed to bring additional learning experience to the daily Bible point. Drama coach: Diane Fisher.
Oasis Tastes: A limited amount of Teens and Adults are needed in the kitchen daily to prepare creative snacks.
Imagination Station and KidVid Cinema: A limited amount of Teens and/or Adults are needed are needed to assist the coordinators with the daily activities.
Registration Greeters/Guides: Adults only. Your job will be to greet children as they arrive and help them find their crew, help with name tags and to assemble bags needed for the crews the night before they’re needed. Monday, June 20 from 12:00 -1:30 pm. Tuesday-Thursday, June 21-23 from 12:15-1:15 pm daily.
Crews WILL BE formed in advance: On Monday, June 20, all registered children should arrive 30 minutes early (12:30pm) and meet in the Gathering Space where your Crew Leader to greets you. Flag Leader: We need flag leaders to move Crews to various locales every 15-20 minutes. We’re looking for adults and energetic teens. Coordinator: Jim Richard.
Daily set-up @ noon & Daily take-down @ 4:00 pm: We need adults and older teens to help with daily setup and take-down.
Nurse: In case of a scrape, a bee sting or other emergency, we would like one nurse on site each afternoon. To volunteer for this coordinator position, please call Diann Chase (586-268-2244) or fill out the form in the bulletin.
Decorator: We need help decorating the building during the week of June 13-19 from 9:30am—4 pm. This is the fun part!!! Let’s help build our desert!
Thursday after Concert & Friday @ 9:30am cleanup: Adults and older teens are needed for this vital job. The building needs to be put back in order after a whole week of activities. Call Diann Chase (586-268-2244) or fill out the form in the bulletin.
