Thank You Saints Among the Saints Family of Parish Parishioners for helping to give returning citizens the chance for a new direction.…
During the month of July, our Saints Among the Saints Family of Parishes sponsored a project with the Macomb County Parole Office. Sixty boxes including microwavable plates & bowls, drinking cups, a place setting of silverware along with a message of love were created and packed at St. Michael.
St. Ephrem—Donated at least 60 CanOpeners & 60 Jars of Peanut Butter
St. Martin de Porres—Donated 120 fruit cups & 240 cans of chicken
St. Blase—Donated 45 Men’s wallets for those without one
St. Michael—Donated all remaining items
These boxes are given to returning men & women who may not have housing or family nearby. The boxes contain approximately 6-7 meals while they transition from hotels into more stable housing.During their hotel stays, they are obtaining their Bridge Cards to purchase their own food, and working on obtaining employment.
On Thursday, July 31st, Macomb Parole Supervisor and agents picked up these boxes and donated boxes of men’s clothing. Thank you again for your care and compassion of Macomb County Returning Citizens, look for this project to continue each July.
